It’s a brand new season of roller derby in the local area…but it comes with a twist.
Arch Rival Roller Derby begins their 13th season of eight-wheeled action this Saturday night at Midwest Sports Hockey at Ballwin, Missouri’s Queeny Park (570 Weidman Rd.)
In the twin-bill of women’s action that launches at 6:30p.m., defending ARCH League Champions, the Stunt Devils, face longtime rivals the Smashinistas while the M-80s face the returning Rebel Skate Alliance in the nightcap.

For the first time in four years, ARCH returns to a four-team format and each event features a pair of women’s games.
With the return of Rebel Skate Alliance to fold, the League imploded the three other teams and a re-draft occurred so that all teams had comparable complexions.
Saturday’s opener has a re-match of last year’s trophy finale. For the defend champion Stunt Devils, Jamming will be paced by Kill-yaKnightly, Scarrie Fisher, Slamgelina Jolie, Reptar and Rhonda Lousey.
Blocking is paced by co-captains Reese Wither(n’Die) Spoon and Zooma Thurman as well as Black Dynamite, Nunchucks Norris, Randsome Note,Sir Ian McKillin’, Fast ‘n’ Lucy Liu, Zoe Hell, Glenn Close But No Cigar, Ginger Assassin and Toni Smaxton.
The Smashies counter with jammers Frowntown, Smash Money, Smashing Violet and Skeevie Nicks.
Blocking is paced by co-captains, Cloak N’ Drag-Her and Smashbird alongside The Monster Smash, WyldeSyde, Nigel Smashberry, chillbeans, Olive Smashin, Smashsquatch, Smash Me Ousside, Soup Beans, Gnarley Carbsmashian and Regrets.
The evening’s second battle features legacy team the M-80s, who look for a return to the title complexion.
Jamming is controlled by L’ Oakey Doki, Lucy Fir, Camp Kwitcherbitchin and Slipknot.
Blocking is set by co-captains Merit Badger and Trampfireand assisted by Pecan Misandry, Slam Shakusky, Crumbledore, Owl Wing It,Bernice, Curl Scouts, Special Brownies, Wood Bang, Scouts Horror and S’more Cowbell.
Returning after a four year-absence, Rebel Skate Alliance,the League’s 2011 trophy winner, is set for an initial splash. Jammer is paced by Darth Tator, Boba Flash and Admiral Aggbar.
Intergalactic blocking is propelled by co-captain TitaniumFalcom, Endorable!, Storm Bruiser, Han Rolo, Obi-Wan Kenosebleed, Jabba The Butt, Spock N’ Roll, Zombie Plagueis, Wookiee Monster, Lethal Dose, C3P Oh-No! and SITH HAPPENS.
Founded in 2005, the League plays a six-event regular season and the two-top finishers clash for ARCH’s trophy next April.
