SETTING THE SCENE
— Saint Louis returns to Chaifetz Arena to host Oregon State on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.

— The game will be televised on ESPNU and streamed on the WatchESPN app. Chuckie Kempf and Brooke Weisbrod are on the call.

— The radio broadcast will air on 101 ESPN (101.1 FM and 101Sports.com). As always, Billiken Hall of Famer Bob Ramsey provides the play-by-play, while St. Louis American Sports Editor and new inductee into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame, Earl Austin Jr., handles the analysis.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
— Saint Louis enters Sunday’s game against Oregon State with a 6-2 record.

— The Billikens are coming off a 61-56 loss at Southern Illinois.

— Senior guard Javon Bess leads the Billikens in scoring (13.1 ppg) and rebounding (8.1 rpg). He is third in the A-10 (first among guards) in rebounds per game.

— Senior guard Tramaine Isabell Jr. is second on the team in scoring (12.1 ppg) and assists (20). He is 31 points shy of 1,000 for his career.

— Sophomore guard Jordan Goodwin shoots 43.1 percent from the floor and averages 10.8 ppg. He leads the Billikens in assists (25) and steals (15).

— Freshman forward Carte’Are Gordon has hit 55.8 percent of his shots from the field and contributes 8.5 ppg. He also leads the team with 15 blocked shots. Senior forward D.J. Foreman scores 6.8 ppg.

— Sophomore forward Hasahn French scores 7.9 ppg and pulls down 7.6 rpg.

— Freshman guard Fred Thatch Jr. has appeared in all eight games off the bench is a main contributor to the Billikens’ defensive effort.

— Saint Louis is second in the A-10 in defense, yielding 61.8 ppg.

— The Billikens were picked to win the Atlantic 10 Conference via a vote by A-10 coaches and media. The Bills claimed 15 of the 26 first-place votes to finish ahead of Saint Joseph’s (second) and Davidson (third).

— Up next, the Billikens travel to Houston to face the Cougars on Sunday, Dec. 16. Tip time is 2pm (CT), and the game will be televised on ESPNU.

ABOUT THE BEAVERS
— Oregon State enters Sunday’s game with a 6-1 record. The Beavers’ lone loss was a 69-63 defeat against Missouri at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. OSU’s best win came against Old Dominion (No. 95 on KenPom.com).

— Forward Tres Tinkle, the son of head coach Wayne Tinkle, leads the Beavers in scoring (20.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.8 rpg).

— Guard Stephen Thompson Jr. adds 17.0 ppg. In the Beavers’ last game against Missouri State, he drained five treys and became Oregon State’s all-time 3-point field goal leader.

— Stephen’s brother, Ethan Thompson, scores 11.9 ppg. Stephen and Ethan Thompson are the sons of Oregon State assistant coach Stephen Thompson Sr.

— The Beavers shoot 48.1 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from the arc. Tres Tinkle, Stephen Thompson and Ethan Thompson have combined to make 40 of the Beavers’ 50 3-pointers this season.

— Head coach Wayne Tinkle is in his fifth season at Oregon State. Previously, he coached at Montana from 2006-14 and led the Grizzlies to three NCAA Tournament appearances.

SERIES HISTORY
— This is the fourth meeting between the Billikens and Beavers … SLU owns a 2-1 series lead … last year, Oregon State defeated SLU 63-60 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon … Jordan Goodwin scored a game-high 22 points in that game.
