The St. Louis Ambush have acquired veteran defender Douglas Dos Santos from the Harrisburg Heat for cash considerations, Ambush CEO Shelly Clark announced today. Per league and team policies, no other details were announced.

Dos Santos, 33, is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has played professionally in Czechoslovakia, Latvia, Poland and Portugal. Douglas comes to the Ambush with four seasons of experience in the Major Arena Soccer League. He spent three seasons (2014-17) with the Chicago Mustangs and last season (2017-18) with the Heat. During his MASL career to date, Dos Santos has compiled 14 goals, 14 assists and 35 blocked shots. He also has postseason experience, having played in one postseason contest with the Mustangs in 2016.

Ambush Head Coach Hewerton Moreira said, “Bringing Douglas will add not only talent to our current roster, but bring years of experience to the team as well. He has been in playoffs and knows what it takes to get there.”

Hewerton added that he expects Dos Santos to be available for Saturday’s preseason contest against the Kansas City Comets. That game kicks off at 6:00 p.m. at the Dellwood Recreation Center, located at 10266 West Florissant Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63136. All tickets for Saturday’s match are only five dollars at the door.

The Ambush kick off their 2018-19 regular season with road games on November 30 at Orlando, December 1 at Florida and December 8 at Harrisburg. The upcoming season will consist of 24 games, with all 12 home games being played at the Family Arena in St. Charles. The home opener is slated for Sunday, December 16 at 3:05 p.m. CT when the Ambush host the Kansas City Comets.
