SETTING THE SCENE

— Saint Louis faces Pitt in the Barclays Center Classic on Wednesday. Game time from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., is set for 11 a.m. (CT).

— The game will be streamed on ESPN3/ACC Network Extra. Jon Yardley and Rob Kennedy are on the call.

— The radio broadcast will air on 101 ESPN (101.1 FM and 101Sports.com). As always, Billiken Hall of Famer Bob Ramsey provides the play-by-play, while St. Louis American Sports Editor and new inductee into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame, Earl Austin Jr., handles the analysis.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS

— Saint Louis is off to a 4-0 start and is receiving votes in the AP Top 25.

— SLU is coming off a 66-64 win at Seton Hall, the Billikens’ first nonconference road win of the Travis Ford era.

— The Billikens were picked to win the Atlantic 10 Conference via a vote by A-10 coaches and media. The Bills claimed 15 of the 26 first-place votes to finish ahead of Saint Joseph’s (second) and Davidson (third).

— This won’t be the Billikens’ only visit to Barclays Center this year. SLU returns in March as the A-10 Championship comes back to Barclays Center. Saint Louis cut down the Barclays Center nets when it won the A-10 in 2013.

— Senior guard Tramaine Isabell Jr. leads the Billikens with 14.5 ppg. He registered a season-high 18 points in the season-opening victory against SEMO.

— Senior guard Javon Bess averages 13.3 ppg and a team-best 8.3 rpg. The A-10 All-Defensive team pick is tied with Isabell for the team lead with eight steals

— Senior guard Dion Wiley drilled three 3-pointers in the Billikens’ win against Seton Hall en route to 17 points. He averages 8.8 ppg.

— Freshman forward Carte’Are Gordon averages 8.3 ppg. In the Billikens’ win against Seton Hall, he turned in career bests of 14 points and four blocks.

— Sophomore guard Jordan Goodwin leads the Bills with 12 assists. He also scores 8.0 ppg and brings down 6.0 rpg. Senior forward D.J. Foreman turns in 8.5 ppg.

— Up next, the Billikens return to Chaifetz Arena Saturday, Nov. 24, for a 3 p.m. matchup against Central Arkansas.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS

— Pittsburgh is in its first season under head coach Jeff Capel.

— Pitt enters Wednesday’s game with a 5-0 record.

— Five Panthers score in double figures, led by Jared Wilson-Frame’s 18.3 ppg. Xavier Johnson contributes 16 ppg.

— Last season, Pitt went 8-24 overall and 0-18 in the ACC.

SERIES HISTORY

— This is the fifth meeting between the Billikens and Panthers.

— The teams last played during the 2007-08 season at the Petersen Events Center, a Pitt victory.

— SLU and Pitt played three times in the 1950s, with the Billikens winning all three.
