The St. Louis Ambush have signed Brazilian midfielder Felipe Dos Santos Silva for the 2018-19 season, Ambush CEO Shelly Clark announced today.

Silva has played Futsal with the Sao Paulo Football Club, the Mercedes Benz Sports Association, Brazilian Athletic Association, Gremio Osasco and Sao Joao/Jundiai. Ambush Head Coach Hewerton Moreira was impressed with Silva’s skills when he saw him during open tryouts held in Brazil this summer. Hewerton said, “Felipe stood out at the evaluation in Brazil due to how sharp and dynamic he was on both sides of the field and also because of his physicality. I’m looking forward to have him showing what he’s capable of here defending St Louis Ambush’s colors.”

The 23-year old native of Sao Paulo has played soccer whenever he got the chance starting at the age of seven. “I was running behind the ball, at home, at school, on the street and all over the place,” he said. Silva added that he is looking forward to meeting his new teammates and coaches and playing for the Ambush and their fans.

The Ambush kick off their 2018-19 campaign with road games on November 30 at Orlando, December 1 at Florida and December 8 at Harrisburg. The upcoming season will consist of 24 games, with all 12 home games being played at the Family Arena in St. Charles. The home opener is slated for Sunday, December 16 at 3:05 p.m. CT when the Ambush host the Kansas City Comets. Season tickets are now on sale and start as low as $150 for all 12 home games.

Prior to the regular season, the Ambush have scheduled two preseason games. They will host the Dallas Sidekicks on November 18 at the Family Arena as part of the free annual Fan Fest, then host the Comets on November 24 at the Dellwood Recreation Center, where all tickets will be only five dollars.
