Billikens WBB Begin Preseason Workouts Sunday

The Saint Louis University women’s basketball team begins preseason preparations for its 2018-19 campaign with its first fall workout Sunday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m.

Seventh-year head coach Lisa Stone welcomes back six players from last year’s team that made a third consecutive WNIT appearance. Seniors Jordyn FrantzKerri McMahan and Tara Dusharm lead the way and are joined in the returning group by junior Kendra Wilken and sophomores Tasia Jeffries and Lauryn Hughes.

Redshirt junior Amber Lindfors, who sat out last season after transferring from Valparaiso, joins the mix this year. SLU’s freshman class, ranked 33rd in the nation by highly regarded evaluation service Blue Star Basketball, is composed of Myia ClarkBrooke FlowersCiaja HarbisonChloe Rice and Evan Zars. Sophomore Myriama Smith Traore will sit out the season after transferring from Marquette.

Saint Louis’ recently announced nonconference schedule features home games vs. 11-time national champion Connecticut (Dec. 4) and intrastate rival Missouri (Dec. 9). The complete schedule, including tip times and Atlantic 10 Conference dates, will be released in the coming weeks.
