St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have agreed to terms with defenseman Joel Edmundson on a one-year contract worth $3 million.
Edmundson, 25, dressed in 69 regular season games with the Blues last season, setting career highs with seven goals and 17 points overall. The Brandon, Manitoba, native was also selected to represent Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Championship, where he collected four points (one goal, three assists) in nine tournament games. Overall, the 6’4, 216-pound defenseman has appeared in 205 career regular season games with the Blues, totaling 41 points (11 goals, 30 assists) and 180 penalty minutes. Edmundson has also recorded seven points (four goals, three assists) and 22 penalty minutes in 27 career postseason games. He was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round, 46th overall, of the 2011 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft.
