One of the most iconic Cardinals in franchise history, Wainwright has gone 147-83 with a 3.29 ERA through 347 games and 280 starts throughout his Major League career, spent entirely in St. Louis. A three-time All-Star, Wainwright ranks 2nd among Cardinals all-time strikeout leaders with 1,595 in his career, trailing only the great Bob Gibson, and 5th all-time with 147 career wins. He and Yadier Molina have been a starting battery for 240 career games, the most in Cardinals history and the most for any tandem since Tom Glavine and Javy Lopez (248) for the Braves.
Off to a great start this season, Wainwright is 1-2 with a 3.45 ERA through three starts in 2018. Monday’s Rehab Start will mark Wainwright’s first time pitching at Hammons Field since a Rehab Start on August 16, 2008, when he struck out seven batters through 4.2 scoreless innings against the Corpus Christi Hooks.
