The American Hockey League (AHL) announced today that Blues prospect and San Antonio Rampage goaltender Ville Husso has been named to the 2017-18 AHL All-Rookie Team.  Husso was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 94th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Husso, 23, has appeared in 37 games for the Rampage this season, posting a 15-13-5 record.  The 6’2, 205-pound goaltender shares the lead among AHL rookies with a 2.32 goal-against average and four shutouts, while he paces that group with a .926 save percentage.  The Helsinki, Finland, native is a product of HIFK in the Finnish league.  During the 2015-16 season, he was named to the SM-liiga All-Star Team and captured the Urpo Ylonen Award as the league’s best goaltender.  Husso is also a two-time medalist with Team Finland, winning bronze at the 2012-13 U-18 World Junior Championships and gold at the 2013-14 U-20 World Junior Championships.
