Wise Named A-10 Rookie of the Week a Fourth Time

For a fourth time this season and third consecutive week, Saint Louis freshman right fielder Sadie Wise has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference softball Rookie of the Week.

Wise produced a .462 batting average (6-for-13) last week. She had two home runs, seven RBIs, a double, a .562 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Wise collected at least one hit in four of the Billikens’ five games. She had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs in a win over Murray State and again in a victory over Saint Joseph’s. Wise did not strike out in any of her 16 plate appearances.

A starter in all 29 games, Wise leads Saint Louis in batting average (.418), hits (38), multiple-hit games (12), home runs (10 – SLU freshman record), RBIs (31), multiple-RBI games (eight), two-out RBIs (12), doubles (10), runs (27), total bases (78), slugging percentage (.857), walks (13), on-base percentage (.500), batting average with runners in scoring position (.438) and batting average with two outs (.520). She has hit safely in 23 of 29 games.

Wise ranks among the top 75 players in the nation in total bases (18th, 78), home runs per game (23rd, 0.34), slugging percentage (25th, .857), RBIs per game (43rd, 1.07), doubles per game (52nd, 0.34), on-base percentage (62nd, .500), runs per game (64th, 0.93) and batting average (75th, .418).

Saint Louis (16-13, 2-1 A-10) hosts Missouri State in a nonconference game Wednesday, March 28, at 4 p.m. The Billikens play their first A-10 road series of the season Friday and Saturday against George Mason in Fairfax, Virginia.
