BILLIKEN OUTLOOK

The Billikens extended their winning streak to six after a three-game sweep of the Oakland Golden Grizzlies over the weekend. Nine of the 10 players who got starts recorded a base hit over the weekend.

The Billiken pitching staff was dominant yet again. Miller Hogan had his longest outing of the season in a seven inning performance, guiding the Billikens to a 9-3 win. Both Hogan and Jackson Wark grabbed wins in their starts over the weekend.

Saint Louis is the hottest team in the Atlantic 10 currently with a six-game winning streak. VCU has rattled-off four straight and has the second longest streak in the league.

The Billikens have enjoyed six consecutive home games and have outscored their opponents 42-13 in that stretch. The team is also a perfect 6-0 when leading after six innings.

Nick Reeser has been very good at the plate in the homestand. The senior has found his place at first base and is hitting .368 over the course of the last six games, and is slugging .520, both of which lead the team.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS

The Cougars enter today’s contest on a two-game losing streak after dropping the final two games of their weekend series to fellow OVC school, Murray State.

First baseman Peyton Cordova-Smith leads the offense with a .300 average in 2018 and is coming off a 2-5 day at the plate.

Mason McCreakon leads the bullpen in appearances with six and has three saves on the year. Opponents are hitting just .103 against him.
