Wise Earns Second A-10 Rookie of the Week Nod

For a second time this season, Saint Louis freshman outfielder/designated player Sadie Wise has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference softball Rookie of the Week.

At the Eastern Kentucky Invitational March 9-11, Wise led the Billikens in batting average (.571), hits (eight), runs (eight), RBIs (eight), total bases (19), slugging percentage (1.357), on-base percentage (.684) and walks (five). She hit safely in all five games, including three 2-hit games, and produced three home runs and two doubles among her eight hits.

Wise had at least one RBI in four of SLU’s five games. She recorded two home runs and four RBIs vs. Akron in the final game of the weekend, a 12-2 Saint Louis victory that gave the Billikens a 4-1 tournament record. Wise struck out just once in 19 plate appearances.

A starter in all 19 games, Wise leads Saint Louis in batting average (.387), hits (24), runs (20), home runs (five), RBIs (16), doubles (six), total bases (45), slugging percentage (.726), walks (11) and on-base percentage (.479).

Saint Louis has won six of its last seven games to lift its season record to 10-9. The Billikens compete in their final regular-season tournament, Kansas’ Rock Chalk Challenge, FridaySunday, March 16-18. SLU takes on Western Illinois, UMKC, Kansas, Murray State and Northern Colorado.
