Lynn Agrees to Terms with Minnesota

by Aaron Mullins

Fans have been clamoring for the Cardinals to re-sign starting pitcher Lance Lynn. As of today that is no longer an option.

Personally I’m shocked that Lynn took only a one year deal.  Surely there were better offers on the table right?

Perhaps not. This particular off-season hasn’t gone the way most people thought. There are still a number of quality players left on the free-agent market with the regular season swiftly approaching.

I would have been happy with the idea of bringing back Lance Lynn. Especially if we can get it done at a 1 year deal worth $12 mil.  Minnesota got a bargain of a deal for a quality pitcher.

Fans are going to be upset that the Cardinals didn’t pull the trigger. I personally think they dropped the ball on Lynn long before this off-season. It was evident that both sides were not happy but that still doesn’t change the fact that Lynn is a quality starter. I wish him the best of luck.
