Trade Deadline Targets

When you think of the Blues what would you think is missing? In my opinion the Blues are missing  depth scoring. As of today it has been reported that the Blues and the Ottawa Senators have had strong discussions involving Matt Hoffman and Derrick Brassard. If you could land both that would change the dynamic of this team.

Mike Hoffman is a pure goal scorer with a very good shot. He could play on a line with Tarasenko and add more scoring to the top 6.

Derrick Brassard is a very underrated playmaker who could fill in on that third line and add more scoring to this team. I’ve been saying the Blues have had zero scoring from the third line and could keep up with the best teams when you get that depth scoring.

Other players being talked about going to Ottawa is Patrick Berglund or Vladimir Sobotka. It could very bell be both of those players, if it is both Hoffman and Brassard I’m sure Ottawa would have to retain some salary to make it work.

Another player on the market is Pat Maroon. The big winger could bring some net front presence the Blues have been missing. I don’t think Maroon would be a good fit for the Blues. His biggest downfall has always been his skating and  the Blues already have the slow wingers. He makes his money in front of the net.

People seem to think Hoffman wouldn’t be the best fit, but I think he makes the most sense the Blues have had the hardest time scoring goals recently and Mike Hoffman could be a game changer for the Blues.
