Homecoming for Reaves

The Blues are coming out of a tough stretch of games were they’ve played a surging Colorado team and a Winnipeg team that hadn’t lost at home since December.

The defending Stanley cup champions come into town with a 30-22-4 record and sitting second in the Metro division and will be looking to slow down the scoring of the Blues who beat Colorado 6-1 and Winnipeg 5-2, it’s the first time the Blues have scored more than four goals in 2018.

The Blues have earned a point and 10 of the last 13 matchups with the Penguins and Jaden Schwartz is starting to heat back up with 5 points (3G, 2A) since returning from his broken foot.

The Blues need to build on the emotional roller coaster the team has been on since the beginning of December, were they have gone 7-9 and 7-4 in January. Good news for the Blues is Alex Steen is producing and Jake Allen might be coming out of the funk he has been in.

What the Blues really need is another big game from Tarasenko and the power play. I personally think Mike Yeo might have found something in the new lines we saw in the Colorado game. The top six looks like they could be dangerous and Berglund looks like a better player when he plays on the line with Schwartz and Schenn.

This game will be an early game (11AM) and nationally televised and should be a great game with Sidney Crosby coming into town and we can’t forget Big Ryan Reaves!

“I saw how emotional Marc-Andre Fleury got when he came back to Pittsburgh. The fans there showed him a whole lot of respect when he came back. I hope it’s going to be something like that,” Reaves said, on the welcome he hopes to receive.
