In their 25-point season-opening triumph in the Hoosier State, the SLAM (1-0) extended their Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) winning streak to seven games.

St. Louis grabbed the opening advantage in the first quarter as their punt return unit blocked an Indy punt and Danielle Price’s recovery for six points resulted in the SLAM’s 7-0 edge following Taylor Hay’s successful PAT kick afterwards.

Later in the frame, quarterback Jaime Gaal connected with receiver Keyonna Smith with 1:47 left and Hay again converted on the kick as the SLAM pushed their lead to 14-0.

Both teams finished the remainder of the half without scoring and St. Louis maintained their 14-0 edge at intermission.

Early in the third quarter, Gaal recorded another gun-slinging scoring strike, this time to Kaylee Neutzling, and the SLAM pushed the score to 21-0 at the 10:25 mark following Hay’s successful kick.

Then on the ensuing kickoff, St. Louis recovered an onside pooch and proceeded to post another six as rookie running back Mary Altepeter notched her first WFA touchdown from ten yards out. Hay continued her perfect streak of kicks that extended the SLAM’s lead to 28-0.

In the fourth, St. Louis padded the spread to 31-0 after Neutzling successfully booted a 20-yard field goal.

The SLAM’s starting defense kept Indy (0-1) in check throughout. To the delight of the hostesses deep, the Crash’s Leah Kasaz scored an 80-yard touchdown run that broke the St. Louis shutout.

The SLAM outscored the Crash in the second half, 17-6, en route to the 31-6 topper.
