Cardinals Avoid Arbitration With Matt Adams

The St. Louis Cardinals have avoided arbitration by signing 1B Matt Adams to a 1-year, $2.8M contract.

As of now, he is the backup first baseman.

He will be eligible for arbitration again next offseason before becoming a free agent after the 2018 season.
