After a thrilling game seven win against Chicago, the Blues fall to the Dallas Stars 2-1 in game one.

The Stars recorded 44 shots as Elliott stood tall stopping 42 of them, but the Blues amounted just one goal, scored by Kevin Shattenkirk.

After a scoreless first period and nearly 10 minutes of scoreless play in the second, the Stars finally broke through.

Antoine Roussel broke the puck out of the zone and entered the attacking end. Roussel dished cross ice to John Klingberg who quickly fed to Radek Faksa who fired on net. Roussel was there for the second attempt to make it 1-0.

The Blues struggled defensively as the Stars piled on 14 shots in the first and 17 shots in the second. During the regular season, the Blues averaged allowing 29.7 shots in the entire game, but allowed 31 through two periods.

Despite being outshot, the Blues battled back to even the score in the third period.

Patrik Berglund held the puck below the goal line and fed Colton Parayko at the point. Parayko passed across to his defensive partner. Shattenkirk ripped a one timer into the back of the net to even the game at one with 8:28 left in regulation.

The Stars answered back as Faksa passed to Alex Hemsky heading into the zone. Hemsky deked and tried to tuck one inside the post, but Elliott made the stop. Faksa picked up the rebound and roofed it to give the Stars the lead 2-1 for good.

Game two between the Blues and Stars will be Sunday May 1 in Dallas.
