(ST. CHARLES, MO) Powered by equally explosive performances, both offensively and defensively, the St. Louis SLAM women’s tackle football franchise smashed the Derby City Dynamite, 71-0, at its home and seasonal opener Saturday night at Lindenwood University.
Leading 25-0 after one quarter, St. Louis bettered its offensive output in the second and held a commanding 52-0 lead at halftime.
The second half gave the SLAM newcomers a chance to get quality game-time minutes. St. Louis outscored the Dynamite in the second half, 19-0, en route to the shutout.
The SLAM (1-0) travels to cross-state, and Women’s Football Alliance, rival Kansas City this Saturday.
St. Louis returns home to play the Chicago Force at Lindenwood University’s Belleville, Illinois campus on Saturday, April 23.
