In the 22-man line-up of domestic skaters, the local representatives are Tony Correnti (“Percy Controll”), Brian McAfee (“Spin Diesel”), Scott Meyer (“Magnum P.I.M.P.”) and Jake Woodward (“Bled Zeppelin”).

The quartet will represent Team USA at the 22-country tournament held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 21-24. Team USA won the inaugural Men’s Roller Derby World Cup in March 2014. Both Correnti and Meyer were members of the squad that finished the event 5-0 and collectively outscore its opponents, 1655-251.

All four are skaters with the GateKeepers’ travel squad that won its inaugural Men’s Roller Derby Association (MRDA) international championship last October.

The GateKeepers continue its local campaign this Saturday at Midwest Sport Hockey in Ballwin where Correnti and Woodard’s team, the Central West Friends, battle the McAfee-assisted Raiders of Forest Park.
