Of Moose & Men: ROH Wrestling, Former Rams OL Hit Ring Saturday

011616_Collinsville_Poster_WebRing of Honor Wrestling (ROH) continues its “Winter Warriors Tour” with a return local appearance this weekend featuring a grudge match involving a former St. Louis Rams offensive lineman.

ROH presents an eight-match showcase Saturday night at Collinsville’s Gateway Center (One Gateway Drive). Bell time is at 7:30 p.m.

A highly-anticipated match-up involves Moose battling former ROH World Champion Adam Cole. Moose, the “nom de ring” of Quinn Ojinnaka, started five games at left guard during the Rams’ 2012 campaign, where he finished his six-season NFL career. The in-ring powerhouse (6-5, 300 lbs.) has seen his personal stock rapidly rise since his ROH debut two years ago and a pinfall over a previous strap holder is his Saturday missive.

011616delirious-vs-daltonAnother top-flight match-up featuring a grappler with local ties is the stem-winder between Delirious and Dalton Castle. The former, an international star, launched his 15-year career in St. Louis with Gateway Championship Wrestling in June 2001. His opponent, the flamboyant Castle, is currently one of the most talked-about ROH performers and brings his “24/7 Party” to the Gateway Center.

011616redragonvsanxTag-team action is a plenty Saturday (four matches total) as ROH Nation salivates the first-time meeting between the All-Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King) versus reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly). The pair of former ROH Tag Team Champions each respectively looks to gain leverage for a future title berth and the winner Saturday more than likely secures opportunity.

011616kaz-sabin-vs-wmIn separate four-man canvas battles, current ROH Tag Team Champions War Machine (Hanson & Ray Rowe) face Frankie Kazarian and the recently-returning Chris Sabin, Mark & Jay Briscoe tangles with “Pro Wrestling’s Last Real Man” Silas Young and the Beer City Bruiser while The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) lock up with ACH & Alex Shelly.

011616bucksvsachshellyIn singles action Saturday, ROH World Television Champion Roderick Strong defends his title against a mystery opponent and former ROH World Champion “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin battles Adam Page.

Tickets are $20 for general admission seating and higher for areas around ringside. Reserved seating is available by going to THIS LINK online.

ROH Wrestling’s weekly one-hour television program is seen locally on KDNL-TV (Channel 30) Saturday nights at 11:30 p.m. and Sundays at Noon. Its program also airs on COMET TV (KPLR 11.3) Wednesday nights at 11 pm.

Worth the price of admission just to see ACH.
