Late Saturday night the black players on the Missouri football team decided to stand together and not participate in football related activities until UM System President Tim Wolfe is removed from his position.

Safety Anthony Sherrils took to Twitter to announce the news.

This comes in light of recent racial unrest on the MU campus. The football coaching staff has been made aware of the protest, and the school has yet to respond to it.

Sherrils’ tweet was retweeted by Jonathan Butler, an MU student who began a hunger strike in hopes of removing Wolfe from his presidency.

The black players on the team make up 58 of the 84 scholarships. Missouri has a game next Saturday against BYU in Kansas City.

When you signed your scholarship acceptance you agreed to play football for the University. Stand by your word! Find another avenue or schedule another time.
