SCDC’s Pack-In-Black, currently ranked #54 internationally by the WFTDA, meets #50 Demolition City Saturday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Evansville, Indiana.

Last Wednesday, St. Chux (2-7) was designated as the seventh seed in the upcoming ten-team Division 2 playoff round held at Cleveland, Ohio in late-August. It marked the St. Charles County rollers’ second consecutive inclusion in the post-season mix.

“We are so excited to get to go to playoffs a second year in a row!” said SCDC captain Pixie Dust-Ruction. “There are so many teams out there that may never get a chance to go, so to get to go twice is just amazing!”

But let’s push the upcoming tourney trek aside and return to this Saturday’s business with the Indiana team that is, arguably, the Pack-In-Black’s friendly nemesis. The two battled at the finale of “Skate to Thrill” invitational in April and Demolition City utilized first-period surges to snag a 160-94 win.

Although the 66-point loss stung at the moment, the Pack in Black showed no shame in the result considering that it lost its most point-productive jammer and a key blocker in the second period of the contest.

St. Chux is more preoccupied with Saturday rather than reflecting on the past.

“With this game, our approach is that this is a new day and a new game,” said Dust-Ruction. “We are putting aside everything else that has happened this year and focusing just this game. Regardless of what happens, we are going to give it our all and have a great time!”

The jamming rotation this weekend will be paced by Jedi Knight-N-Gale, who collected 83 points in her last outing against Oklahoma Victory. Veteran Conner (formally G.I. Jamie) and hard-charging youngster Sugar Shock will also don the star offensively.

Blocking will be paced by the aforementioned Dust-Ruction, Whip L’Ash, Tara Eyes, Jane Error, Blue Collar Brawler, Sha’Killa, Joanie Rollmoan, Zombie Firebomb, Slaughterhaus, 50 Shades of Pink and Zo D. Ax.

As the visiting squad, St. Chux knows that they have to launch with a quick sprint in order to stymie the opposition and silence the Evansville fan base.

”We are going to do everything we can to set that tone in our favor,” said Dust-Ruction.

Saturday’s opponent, the Demolition City Dynamite Dolls (2-5), also received its second straight WFTDA Division 2 playoff bid last week and is designated as the fifth seed at the aforementioned Cleveland playoff that St. Chux will compete at.

Like SCDC, the Dynamite Dolls have had an extremely competitive regular season against higher-ranked squads. The Dolls fell to #29 Steel City (167-108) and #34 Ohio (200-167) in mid-June.

Jamming is paced by Bambi ThumpHer, Stepheree and Hurtz Donut while blocking is led by Shelby N. Pain, Bangs McCoy, Tenacious V, Steel Stitches, Wallop of Daisy and others.

XSCDC VS. OKVD 006The historical ledger between the two franchises began in October 2012 and currently stands at 2-2. Not only will the result of Saturday’s game net one squad the third duke head-to-head, but it will also give the victor its third overall victory of the season, which is important as it could lead to a push with post-season around the corner.

“We love Demo, but we obviously want to win,” said SCDC’s Dust-Ruction. “We always have a great time when we visit Demo and we are looking forward to a great game!”

Prior to the 7:30 p.m. “A-team” meeting, the SCDC Hell’s Belles (1-2) meets the DCRD Destruction Dames for a b-team battle that launches at 5:30 p.m.

LIVE AUDIO COVERAGE of the main event beings at 6:45 p.m. and can be heard for free by going to the official website of Demolition City.
