Home Hockey Blues’ Moves On Day 1

Blues’ Moves On Day 1

by

St. Louis, Mo– The day that many hockey fans have marked on their calendar is finally upon us. NHL free agency has kicked off with a bang. But what have the St. Louis Blues done?

***Vladimir Tarasenko– Nothing yet to report on Day 1 regarding Tarasenko. The Blues forward got married in Russia today, and most likely will not sign this afternoon.

Jori Lehtera– Signed to a three year extension, worth 14.1mil total. This contract will kick in for the start of the 2016-2017 season. He appeared in 75 regular season games during his first NHL season, while netting 14 goals and 30 assists. He received a +21 overall rating this past year as well. He also added two assists in five postseason games.

Chris Butler– Signed a one year deal. While the contract details were not disclosed, it is still nice to see a St. Louis native but the Blue Note sweater back on for at least one more season. I imagine Butler will sign for around 1.2-2.3mil AAV. This past year Butler split time with Petteri Lindbohm and Ian Cole(who recently signed with PIT). He played in 33 total games, recording three goals and six assists. However, Butler’s last seaon in CGY, in 2013-2014, he played in all 82 games.
