For the third time in the past 24 hours, the Blues have made an acquisition.

This time, the Blues added a forward as they inked Olli Jokinen from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a late-round conditional pick based on the performance of Jokinen in the rest of the season.

At the age of 36, Jokinen is in his 20th season in the NHL. With the trade, the Blues will be the ninth team Jokinen will play for as he has logged 320 goals and 427 assists for 747 points in 1,232 games played.

So far this season, Jokinen has struggled to produce on the ice with just seven points in 54 games this season with the Predators and Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs acquired Jokinen in a trade involving Mike Santorelli and Cody Franson in February as the 36-year-old has played just six games for the Leafs.

For Toronto, the trade is a salary cap move as it will not retain any salary on his contract according to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun. Jokinen is set to make $2.5 million and his contract expires at the end of the season. According to nhlnumbers.com, Jokinen will count just under $800,000 to the salary cap for the Blues.
