NFL Week 15-Five Takeaways

  1. Simply put, the Rams offense looked just plain ugly last Thursday against the Cardinals. After coming off two very strong showings, the Rams were an easy pick for anyone paying attention. The whole Arch City Sports staff picked them, NFL network picked them. Heck, the nation picked them. But their true colors shown bright when faced with a smash mouth defense. Shaun Hill could not get a drive going and when he was able to put something together, he fell short. Who will be at the helm next year? That is a question for a different column.
  2. Like everyone else, I have been high on Rodgers and the Packers and the Bills made him look human. The Bills have been playing at an extremely high level as of late. And at this point in time in the season, I would be afraid to play them. The only worry I have is at their QB. Kyle Orton is not the guy to lead them, find a veteran who knows how to lead teams and this is a contender for many years coming.
  3. While the Packers fell, the Lions won a big one against the Vikings tying the North division. This is going to come down the last game of the season and at one point in time, I would have said this is easily the Packers division to lose. But I think with how hot the Packers are, the Lions are flying under the radar. This is division that is truly up in the air.
  4. Cowboys continue to make believers out of anyone who is paying attention. Going in Philadelphia and holding off a potential comeback has to give any team momentum going into the last couple of weeks. Their next big test will be against the Colts potentially without their star, DeMarco Murry. Because they are playing at home, this game could go either way. It just depends on what Tony Romo shows up that day.
  5. While there has been a lot of talk of the NFC South having a losing team in the playoffs, the Saints poise to win their next two at home against Atlanta and away against the Buccs. With the output from the Saints as of late, I see Brees being very capable winning the last two games of the season. If his outing against Chicago was any indication of how this team will perform in the future, this could be the Cinderella story of the season.
