Home Baseball One word. Postseason.

One word. Postseason.

Cardinal Nation, there’s only one word that can describe lat night’s game for me – wow. That’s it. Just wow.

There’s something about this team that makes the Postseason a hundred times more exciting (and stressful)…

There are people that hate this team simply because they are in the Postseason a lot. You know what I tell them? Being in the Postseason isn’t luck. Being in the Postseason is a privilege.

Last night was a prime example why I love this team so much. The main key to having a successful ball club is never giving up. Whether the turnout is good or bad, the Cardinals never have that “giving up” attitude…

While the Cardinals’ bullpen was having problems, the Cardinals pulled through. Cardinals rookie Kolten Wong said it himself during a post-game interview. Basically, he stated that they kept a positive outlook throughout the entire game.

Kolten, that is the PERFECT way to handle a situation like last night’s. Ladies and gentlemen, hard work pays off. If you aren’t proud of the Cardinals and the way they handled last night, then you are one tough cookie.

Home run after home run, the game just got better and better. Even though there were struggles with the bullpen, the anxiety just made it that much more exciting (…right?). I sit here and try to think of words to describe how the Postseason makes us feel. Somehow (she says sarcastically), I can only think of words that have to do with having heart problems. There is truly a reason why the Cardinals get the nickname “Cardiac Cards”. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with that! It just makes the game that much more exciting. One reason out of a million why I love this team so much.

A while back, I wrote an article simply about enjoying the game of baseball. Sure, baseball during the regular season is exciting and fun. But it’s something about that electric atmosphere that runs through and beyond the ballpark. Being around Cardinals fan’s energy makes the Postseason a hundred times more ecstatic. The feeling of being in the Postseason never gets old. I don’t recall ever hearing a Cardinal fan saying “Man, this whole Postseason thing is getting old.”

Last night makes me realize how thankful I am for this team and their fans. Sure, we will get hate and ridicule. That’s all part of being a Cardinal fan. Be proud of who you cheer on, because this team is something special. The outlook this team has is truly unique.

I couldn’t ask more out of a team – a team who fights to the last out. To the last strike, even.

Last night’s game truly defines what the rest of this series is going to be like. Get ready, Cardinal Nation. The Cardiac Cards have more in store for us.

I hope you guys are enjoying the Postseason, and here’s to a very exciting road to the Fall Classic.

Keep flying, Cardinal Nation.

Hi Carly! Awesome article, + I couldn’t have said it better myself! Sometimes the postseason is more painful than joyful — I want our team to win so much! By the way, I am a writer/blogger, too. My biz (+ blog) name is RedBird, my shout-out to the Cardinals! http://redbirdv.wordpress.com/2014/10/13/yet-more-powder-room-during-photos/ I guess my screen name is, too! Go Cardinals!

Someone please explain why Cruz is starting over AJ?

I agree Carly. It wouldn’t be the same without the drama. It’s what makes the Cardinals in this era that much more memorable.
