Wave Overcome Ambush Halftime Lead

The Milwaukee Wave clinched a playoff berth when the defeated the St. Louis Ambush 19-12 Saturday afternoon at the Family Arena. The Ambush had a 10-6 lead at the halftime break, but Milwaukee bounced back by outscoring St. Louis 13-2 in the second half. The Wave outshot the Ambush 39-28.

Carlos Munoz had two goals for Milwaukee. Pablo scored the game winning tally. Other goals for the Wave came from Judson McKinney, Luan Oliveira, Nicholas Perera Marcelo Fontana and JC Banks.

Chad Vandegriffe and Rich Schmermund provided all the scoring for the Ambush with two goals each. Vandegriffe’s tallies included a two-point goal and a three-pointer.

The Ambush have three home games remaining in the 2013-14 season. The Baltimore Blast pay their first and only visit to the Family Arena on Thursday, February 6 at 7:35 p.m. The Wave return for their final visit of the 2013-14 season on Friday, February 21 at 7:35 p.m. On Thursday, February 27, the Ambush host the Missouri Comets and it will be Retro Night. Current Ambush players will wear throwback jerseys and a Reunion Game at halftime will feature stars from previous St. Louis Ambush, Storm and Steamers teams.
