Ambush Lose Third In A Row

by Press Release

The St. Louis Ambush lost their third consecutive game when they suffered a 26-2 blowout at the hands of the Missouri Comets Friday night in Independence. The win improved the Comets’ record to 9-5, while the Ambush dropped to 4-9 and moved from fifth place to sixth in the MISL standings. St. Louis has scored only two goals in their last three games while giving up 27.

Forward Stefan St. Louis was the scoring leader for Missouri, with three goals and an assist, for seven point night. Comets defender Brian Harris was right behind teammate St. Louis with a six point game, including back-to-back shorthanded goals. Midfielder Vahid Assadpour, the league leader in goals and points, added to more to his total. The rest of Missouri’s tallies came from Leo Gibson, Ramone Palmer, Lucas Rodriguez, Alex Megson and Coady Andrews. Kory Dowell scored the lone Ambush goal. It was the first tally of the game early in the first quarter, but it would be all Comets after that.

There will be little time to reflect on what went wrong, as the Ambush are back in action tomorrow evening at 6:00 p.m. in Milwaukee against the first-place Wave. The contest against the Wave concludes a four-game road trip for St. Louis.
