St. Charles Chill General Manager/Head Coach Jamie Rivers has announced the additions of three more players to the inaugural Chill roster. Forward Corey Fulton and defensemen Greg Brown and David Strathman push the total number of players signed to 16.
Fulton (6’ 2”, 200 lbs) will begin his fourth season of professional hockey this year after spending last season with the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, the forward tallied three goals and seven assists in 47 games with Huntsville while racking up 216 penalty minutes and posting a plus/minus rating of +5. Prior to last season, Fulton spent two years with the Danbury Whalers of the Federal Hockey League (FHL) where he amassed 437 penalty minutes in 63 games.
A native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Brown (6’ 2”, 200 lbs) will add some more muscle on the blue line this season after spending the 2012-13 season in the SPHL with the Louisiana IceGators where he registered eight assists and racked up 134 penalty minutes in 50 games. Brown finished up his junior career in 2009 with 20 points and 399 penalty minutes in 167 games. After playing in just eight games for Brock University in 2009, the left-handed shooting defenseman took a year off before making his professional debut with the Huntsville Havoc in the SPHL, posting two goals and seven assists while adding 118 penalty minutes in 46 games. Brown does have some familiarity with the Central Hockey League, playing in eight games with the Allen Americans at the end of the 2011-2012 season.
Strathman (6’ 2”, 190 lbs) returns to the CHL where he began his professional career in 2010 with the Allen Americans. The right-handed shooting defenseman scored 13 goals and dished out 28 assists in 66 games before spending the 2011-12 season in the ECHL. Strathman played in 51 games with three teams last season, logging five goals and 16 assists. Prior to his professional career, the native of Tempe, Arizona spent four years playing collegiately for Northeastern University where he notched 50 points in 129 career games.
The Chill will begin their inaugural season in the Central Hockey League on October 19th at the Family Arena with a FREE preseason game scheduled for October 11th.
